Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli produces 91 million barrels of oil during first half of 2020

During the second quarter of the year, Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) continued to safely and reliably deliver stable production. Total ACG production for the six months of 2020 was on average 498,000 barrels per day (b/d) (about 91 million barrels or 12 million tonnes in total) from the Chirag (38,000 b/d), Central Azeri (123,000 b/d), West Azeri (122,000 b/d), East Azeri (66,000 b/d), Deepwater Gunashli (96,000 b/d) and West Chirag (53,000 b/d) platforms, BP Azerbaijan has told AZERTAC.

At the end of the quarter, 129 oil wells were producing, while 42 wells were used for water and 7 for gas injection, the company said.

BP spent about $268 million in operating expenditure and $947 million in capital expenditure on ACG activities in January-June of 2020.

ACG participating interests are: BP (30.37 per cent), AzACG (SOCAR) (25.0 per cent), MOL (replaced Chevron from April 16, 2020) (9.57 per cent), INPEX (9.31 per cent), Equinor (7.27 per cent), ExxonMobil (6.79 per cent), TPAO (5.73 per cent), ITOCHU (3.65 per cent), ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (2.31 per cent).
