Kremlin: CSTO commitments do not apply to Nagorno-Karabakh

“Unlike Armenia, the obligations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) do not apply to Nagorno-Karabakh,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA‘s Moscow correspondent reports.

“These are commitments on ensuring security. It means if a member country of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)  is subjected to any aggression, attack from outside, the member states of the agreement have the commitment to defend that state, ” said a spokesperson of Kreml.

Speaking about the readiness of his country to send servicemen in which case, to the Nagorno Garabagh conflict zone, the Russian president’s spokesman said that it is due to commitments.

Note that Russian President Vladimir Putin in his interview with “Rossiya1” has talked about the commitments of his country within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) stated that military operations are not conducted in the territory of Armenia.
