Turkey-Azerbaijan Common Heritage

A concert titled “My Azerbaijan” of the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble within the “Turkey-Azerbaijan Common Heritage” program was hosted in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event was organized by Khazar Folklore, Education, and Research Center – Hazarfem, Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture, State Diaspora Committee of Azerbaijan and State Philharmonic of Azerbaijani, and hosted by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

The event aims to further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan that share a common culture, history and speak the same language.

The performs presented the best examples of Azerbaijani culture and staged the “Koroglu” National Ballet, the first national ballet of the Turkic world, in which the heroism of Koroglu is committed.

The artistic director and director of the ensemble is the People’s Artist of Russia, famous artist and choreographer Dikalu Muzakayev.

“Koroglu” Opera is one of the musical works of East and Turkic Islamic World, first exhibited in the year of 1937, in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The event was attended by high-level protocol and NGO representatives from Turkey and Azerbaijan and all Istanbulites invited. The concert was held free of charge at the Istanbul Congress Center (ICC).
