Azerbaijani ambassador presents his credentials to Italian President

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov has presented his credentials to the country`s President Sergio Mattarella.

Ambassador Aslanov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings and best wishes to the Italian President.

Rashad Aslanov noted that the high-level reciprocal visits carried out in recent years are very important in terms of strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy.

Hailing the successful development of relations between the two countries in all areas, including in the field of education, Ambassador Aslanov emphasized that the establishment of the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku is of great importance in terms of strengthening the ties between the two countries and peoples.

President Sergio Mattarella asked the diplomat to extend his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev. He also recalled his visit to Azerbaijan in 2018 and the Azerbaijani President`s visits to Italy in 2020 and 2022. The Italian President pointed out that Azerbaijan-Italy relations are based on friendship and strategic partnership, and expressed confidence that the relations in energy, trade, cultural and other spheres will continue to develop successfully.

Sergio Mattarella wished Rashad Aslanov success in his diplomatic activities in Italy.
