Azerbaijani delegation attends 13th session of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ramiz Hasanov is participating in the 13th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Port Louis, the Republic of Mauritius.The international cooperation mechanisms established under the 2003 Convention such as inscriptions on the Lists, register of Good Safeguarding Practices and requests for International Assistance together with the examination of national reports are inscribed on the agenda of the meeting.Addressing the event, Ramiz Hasanov thanked the member states for supporting Azerbaijan`s candidacy to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. He said that Azerbaijan was represented at the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008-2014 and hosted the 8th session of the Committee.Hasanov hailed the invaluable contributions of First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva to the dynamic development of UNESCO–Azerbaijan relations.
