Azerbaijani ombudsperson participates in international conference in Uzbekistan

Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva has attended an international conference dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the Institute of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.

Human rights commissioners and representatives of other authorities of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Serbia, as well as Head of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights` Regional Office for Central Asia and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan addressed the event.

The Azerbaijani ombudsperson made a report on ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities. Sabina Aliyeva highlighted the measures taken in Azerbaijan to protect the rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities.

She also spoke about the reforms implemented in the field of ensuring human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan.
