Azerbaijani pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai features National Day

A National Day has been organized in Azerbaijan`s pavilion at the “Expo 2020 Dubai” international exhibition.

A meeting between the Azerbaijani delegation and Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri was held as part of the National Day.

During the meeting, the UAE Minister thanked Azerbaijan for its support provided to Expo 2020 Dubai. The sides discussed issues of bilateral relations and expansion of investment in Azerbaijan.

Then, an official ceremony was held at “Al Wasl Plaza”.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2020 Dubai Issam Kazim congratulated Azerbaijan on its National Day ceremony organized on the sidelines of the exhibition. Praising the participation of Azerbaijan in this prestigious event, the CEO highlighted the extensive economic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the UAE.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner General of Azerbaijan at Expo 2020 Dubai, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates on the high level organization of Expo 2020 Dubai. The Presidential Assistant noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with the UAE, a country that shares common cultural, historical and religious values with Azerbaijan. “Next year marks the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE. Azerbaijan and the UAE continue to maintain successful cooperation in various fields. Azerbaijan is one of the main tourist destinations for UAE citizens. Our relations are also developing in economic and investment spheres,” the Presidential Assistant said.

The Azerbaijani side invited the UAE companies to take an active part in the reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the restoration of historical and cultural monuments.

Azerbaijan is represented at the Expo 2020 Dubai with a national pavilion under the “Seeds for the future” theme. The Azerbaijani national pavilion, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center, features videos highlighting the country’s history, cultural legacy and geography.

First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva paid special attention to the participation of Azerbaijan at the Expo 2020 Dubai, and Azerbaijan was among the first countries to launch the construction of the national pavilion at the Expo.

The event participants then familiarized themselves with the national pavilions of Azerbaijan and the UAE.
