The Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet of Belarus gathered world-famous opera stars on its stage.
Spectacular gala concerts were held as part of the 9th Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum, Trend Life reported. The opera forum brought together artists from 34 countries.
Azerbaijan’s opera singer Fidan Hajiyeva was also a honored guest of the forum.
The opera star performed the leading part in such works as “Tosca”, “Bohemia”, “Salome”, “Don Pasquale”.
“It was a great honor for me to represent Azerbaijan and perform at such a significant event of opera art with the participation of world stars. After the speech, there were many congratulations from colleagues and artists. This is my third performance on the stage of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus,” said Hajiyeva.
The opera singer previously performed in “Carmen” opera.
“Over the week, viewers saw the best opera productions, heard recognized stage stars, get acquainted with the festival premieres of a variety of opera genres and, most importantly, discovered new names,” she added.
The forum also hosted the fifth vocal competition. It was attended by 11 finalists from Belarus, Russia, Republic of Korea, Venezuela, Georgia and the United States.
The director general of the theater Vladimir Gridyushko, who is also the ideological inspirer of the Minsk Christmas Opera Forum, headed the jury. The winner of Grand Prix became Russian Ksenia Nesterenko.
Fidan Hajiyeva became Baku’s youngest performer of the title role of Carmen in Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” opera. Her leading roles include Verdi’s operas such as Amneris in “Aida”, Azuchena in “II Trovatore”, Maddalena in “Rigoletto” opera, etc.
In 2006, opera singer was awarded the title of “Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan” .
In 2016, Fidan realized her dream of many years by opening her own Music Centre to share her experience of all types of music to a body of students both young and old.
On December 20, 2016, Fidan represented Azerbaijan at the 7th international world forum in Minsk at the invitation of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the Opera and the Ballet of Belarus, with famous vocalists from a number of countries invited to perform at a gala concert.
Following her performance, she was invited by National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the Opera and the Ballet of Belarus to perform “Carmen” in Minsk in April 2017.
