Belarus, Lithuania, Poland to bid to co-host 2026 EHF European Men’s Handball Championship

The handball federations of Belarus, Lithuania, and Poland plan to bid to co-host the 2026 EHF European Men’s Handball Championship, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Handball Federation.

The parties reached a preliminary agreement on cooperation in the matter and plan to send the corresponding documents to the European Handball Federation. The handball federations of the three countries will then continue the detailed work on all the issues related to the organization of the competitions.

The initiator to co-host the 2026 European Men’s Handball Championship is Poland hosted the 2016 EHF European Men’s Handball Championship. In 2020 Poland will co-host the championship together with Austria and Sweden. In 2023 Poland and Sweden will co-host the World Men’s Handball Championship.
