Czech-Azerbaijani trade grew 12% to make 1.1 bn euros last year, ambassador

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Azerbaijan Milan Ekert has said trade between the two countries saw a 12%-growth last year against 2017 to reach 1.1 billion euros. He said the Czech Republic was Azerbaijan`s fifth largest trade partner and ninth largest foreign investor. Imports from Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic increased 15% to make one billion euros.

Ekert said encouraging Czech companies to get access to Azerbaijan`s market is one of the key priorities for the embassy. “Czech companies enjoy quite an extensive work experience in Azerbaijan. Many of them are ready to consider the possibility of joint production with their partners in Azerbaijan,” the ambassador added.
