Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2020

Baku City Circuit (BCC) today announced that tickets for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2020 will be available to purchase online via www.bakucitycircuit.com from October 22, 2019. The landmark 5th successive Formula 1 race weekend to be staged on the streets of Azerbaijan’s capital city is taking place on the new date of June 5th – 7th, 2020.

To celebrate this milestone event, BCC is offering fans ‘early bird’ discounts of 20% on the cost of all 4-day tickets. This exciting offer will be available until January 15th, 2020, after which the cost of tickets will revert back to their original price. BCC is encouraging people to act fast and book their tickets for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2020 while this offer is still available.

A 4-day ticket includes grandstand access to not only the three days of racing as well as all accompanying entertainment offerings but also to a special Public Pit Lane Walk on Thursday 4th June. This unique experience allows thousands of passionate F1 followers to enter the sport’s inner sanctum to experience the teams’ engineers and mechanics applying the finishing touches to the cars in their respective garages ahead of what is increasingly being recognised as the most unpredictable and dramatic F1 race weekend on the calendar.

The 2019 F1 race weekend in Baku was another overwhelming success as the fourth instalment of the fastest street race in F1 once again delivered on all fronts, on and off-track! After the previous two years’ dramatic and unexpected outcomes, expectations were again high for another unpredictable race through Baku’s high-speed straights and winding, narrow streets. However, this time the main drama was reserved for the Saturday Qualifying session as first Williams’ Robert Kubica and then the young Ferrari wonderkid, Charles Leclerc, fell victim to the circuit’s now iconic Turn 8 – the entrance point to the narrowest section of any F1 track on the calendar. Perhaps the other drivers took, as the race itself saw them adopt a more safety-first approach to ensure they avoided the pitfalls of this tremendously challenging circuit. Even so, the race was not short of incident and ultimately was a tale of redemption for Mercedes’ Flying Finn, Valtteri Bottas, who avenged his devastating DNF in 2018 with a resounding win to finally claim victory in Baku ahead of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton & Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. In doing so he became the 4th different winner of the Baku race in as many years. Can we expect a new winner in 2020 to mark the 5th F1 race in Azerbaijan?

Off-track, the global music superstars Jessie J and Cardi B entertained fans with their high-octane live shows at Baku’s stunning Crystal Hall long after the noise of the F1 engines died down.

BCC’s Executive Director, Arif Rahimov, welcomed today’s announcement: “We are thrilled to be preparing for our 5th race weekend with a level of confidence and satisfaction. I could only have dreamed of when we first joined the F1 family back in 2016. To mark this occasion, we are delighted to offer fans this early bird 20% discount offering that will once again act as a strong incentive for people from both home and abroad to book their weekend tickets as early as possible. It is truly a source of immense pride to myself and my team to have watched our race grow into one of the most exciting events in F1 and to see how well it has been embraced by the global F1 community. Last year’s race was another spectacular weekend of racing and entertainment here in Baku and we are once again expecting no shortage of drama, high-speeds and excitement when F1 arrives back in Baku in June 2020.”

In addition to the discounted 4-day ticket offering, special ‘Junior’ tickets for children aged 2-15 will also be made available to families travelling to the event together. These can only be purchased in conjunction with an adult ticket and only in the 4-day format. Where necessary, Valid ID with proof of age will be required at point of entry.

Daily Roaming Tickets will also be on offer at full price to those preferring to watch the action from different locations on the track on various standing areas and podiums.

Discounted 4-day adult ticket prices range from US$160 – US$560 while discounted 4-day Junior tickets range from US$110 – US$390.

Daily Roaming Tickets will range from US$60- US$110.
