‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan’ online chess series supported by Nar ends

The ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan’ online chess series organized by chess.az with the support of Nar has ended. Elnur Mehtiyev became the winner of the grand final of the competition, which was held among top 10 players. Ismayil Gurbanov and Shahriyar Rahmanov took the second and third places, respectively. Nar awarded the first three chess players special prizes.

A total of 264 chess players from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and India took part in the two-month series. Consisted of eight tournaments and grand final, each tournament of the series is named after the regions liberated as a result of the Great Patriotic War. The series was held on the chess platform lichess.org.
