Khankandi State Drama Theatre

Khankandi State Drama TheatreKhankandi State Drama Theatre was founded in 1932 and named after Maxim Gorky, a Russian and Soviet writer, a founder of the socialist realism literary method, and a political activist. The Theatre was included in the list of the immovable historical and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan on August 2, 2001. After the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh by the Armenian Armed Forces as a result of the First Karabakh War of 1991-1994, the history of Drama Theatre was falsified and it was named after a Soviet Armenian actor Vahram Papazyan by Armenian invaders.
