“Azerbaijan is an important partner for Europe in a variety of areas,” said President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite as she received credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan Tamerlan Garayev.
She noted that the negotiation process on a new agreement, which will further expand the bilateral dialogue between the EU and Azerbaijan, is underway.
President Dalia Grybauskaite expressed her country’s readiness to strengthen economic ties with Azerbaijan, particularly cooperation in the fields of information technology, tourism, food industry, transport and logistics.
The sides discussed the bilateral relations, economic cooperation, exchange of students, as well as prospects for developing relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
