International Mugham Center has hosted a creative evening dedicated to well-known accordionist Nizami Asgarov, Azernews reports.
At the evening, Doctor of Philosophy in Art Criticism, Honored Cultural Worker Saadat Takhmirazgizi spoke about Nizami Asgarov’s work, his qualities as a wonderful musician, an experienced teacher who played an important role in the formation of a new generation of musicians, the development of performing arts.
It was noted that Nizami Asgarov made a great contribution to the development of national music, each melody that he performed or created conquers hearts, and wins people’s love.
The guests were shown a video in which prominent cultural figures Alibaba Mammadov, Janali Akbarov, Agakhan Abdullayev, Aftandil Israfilov, Alim Gasimov, Aghavardi Pashayev, Mansum Ibrahimova shared their thoughts on the musician’s work.
The guests were presented with a concert program with the participation of singers and musicians. Nizami Asgarov thanked the organizers, musicians and guests for a wonderful festive evening.
Nizami Asgarov was born in 1957 in Baku. He began his professional career in 1977 as an accordionist in the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble under the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall.
Having started working in 1982 as an accordion teacher at the Ashiq Alasgar Palace of Culture, in 1993 he continued his work at the Baku Choreographic School, and since 1995 – at the Art Gymnasium under the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
In 1997, Nizami Asgarov was invited to the ensemble of People’s Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan Zeynab Khanlarova and toured with the group in more than 20 countries around the world.
His uncle Ashiq Shirvan-Ali Asgar Asgarov played an important role in his entry into professional art.
He performed with such well-known Azerbaijani singers as Zeynab Khanlarova, Yagub Mammadov, Sabir Mirzoyev, Gulu Asgarov, Nazakat Mammadova, Baba Mahmudoglu, Alibaba Mammadov, Aghakhan Abdullayev, Arif Babayev, Suleyman Abdullayev, Sakina Ismayilova, Alim Gasimov, Mammadbagir Bagirzade, Nisa Gasimov, Mansum Ibrahimov, Konul Khasiyeva, Malakkhanum Ayyubova and many others.
