Turkey increases import of Azerbaijani gas by 20.5%

During January-March of this year, Turkey imported over 2,729.24 cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan which is 20.54% more as compared with relevant period of 2019. Thereby, Azerbaijan has occupied the second place in Turkey’s total gas import, “APA-Economics” reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

During January-March of 2019, Turkey imported 2,264.23 mln. cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan.

According to the report, Russia occupies the first place in Turkey’s gas import. During January-March of this year, approximately 3,711.84 mln. cubic meters of “blue fuel” were exported from this country to Turkey. And Iran settled down in the third place in Turkey’s gas import via pipeline, transported 2,029,21 mln. cubic meters of gas to Turkey during the reporting period.

During January-March of this year, Turkey’s gas import made up 15,191.17 mln. cubic meters.

Note that in the last year, Turkey imported from Azerbaijan over 9.58 bln. cubic meters of gas which is 27.2% more as compared with the same period of 2018.
