The first online meeting of the Heads of the Foreign Relations Committees of the TURKPA Member Parliaments has been held.
Azerbaijan was represented by Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties Samad Seyidov.
The meeting on “The role of parliaments in Foreign Policy Cooperation” was moderated by Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) Akif Cagatay Kilic.
Addressing the event, Samad Seyidov stressed the importance of joint activity to maintain peace at the global and regional levels. The MP highlighted the initiatives and steps taken by Azerbaijan to develop global and regional cooperation.
The meeting participants made speeches on the matter, including the role of parliaments in foreign policy and prospects for cooperation in foreign policy issues of common interest.
Emphasizing the importance of holding such meeting for the first time within TURKPA, the participants agreed to hold the second meeting in the in-person format in the future.
