“In fact, the Azerbaijani citizens expelled from Nagorno-Karabakh retain all their legal rights to property and the lands, which is currently resettled by displaced persons from Lebanon. This policy ultimately contradicts international law and will deepen the conflict even if Yerevan’s influence on the region is weakened,” Ukrainian political analyst, head of the Political Studies Center Doctrine Yaroslav Bozhko said in an interview with AZERTAC.
“The policy of demographic change in certain regions is always an attempt to create a fallback scenario for a situation when the power of weapons weakens or the government in the region can be questioned,” Bozhko emphasized.
The Ukrainian political analyst said that the resettlement policy pursued in Nagorno-Karabakh was a violation of the norms and principles of international law and aimed at falsifying history.
“International organizations, including the OSCE Minsk Group which is actively involved in resolving the conflict must demonstrate their specific positions on the artificial resettlement activities in the occupied territories,” he added.
