9th meeting of Azerbaijan-Hungary Joint Intergovernmental Commission held in Budapest

The 9th meeting of Azerbaijan-Hungary Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation has been held in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary.

Prior to the meeting, Co-chair of the Commission, Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev met with Co-chair of the Commission, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.

The co-chairs reviewed the future directions of bilateral cooperation and the agenda of the Commission meeting.

Hailing the relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, Minister Sahil Babayev noted the successful activity of the Hungarian companies in Azerbaijan and the interest of Hungarian companies to participate in the construction works carried out in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation.

Minister Péter Szijjártó praised the constant development of his country`s relations with Azerbaijan – a strategic partner for Hungary, as well as the expansion of these relations over time.

Discussions during the meeting, attended by the representatives of the relevant institutions from both Azerbaijan and Hungary, mainly focused on friendly relations, increased trade turnover between the two countries, as well as energy, development and transmission of green energy, agriculture, labour, employment, social protection, education, culture, tourism, health, transit cargo flows and mutual investment promotion.

Then, the ministers have signed a protocol on the results of the 9th meeting of Azerbaijan-Hungary Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation, which defines the future directions for cooperation between the two countries.
