Azerbaijan, Romania discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Romania Huseyn Najafov has met with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of Marcel Ciolacu in the Parliament of Romania.

During the meeting, the sides discussed relations between the two countries in various fields, including prospects for cooperation within the Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania.

Najafov highlighted the new realities that had emerged in the region after the 44-day Patriotic War, the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as Azerbaijan`s peace and regional cooperation initiatives.

Speaker Marcel Ciolacu hailed the bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, who is a strategic partner of Romania. He emphasized the importance of continuing the efforts of both sides to further deepen these ties, as well as inter-parliamentary relations. He noted that Romania is interested in closer cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields, including energy.
