Azerbaijan to transport 12 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe this year

Azerbaijan

“10.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported to Türkiye and 12 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) this year, said Azerbaijani Ambassador to Türkiye Rashad Mammamadov.

Mammadov noted that TANAP, as one of the most important steps in the successful energy cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, is considered one of the most strategic projects implemented so far to increase the diversity of natural gas resources. The ambassador underscored that increasing the volume of gas transportation up to 32 billion cubic meters would enable to send the gas from both Azerbaijan and other countries to Europe via TANAP.

According to him, the work is underway on the construction of the natural gas pipeline between Igdir and Nakhchivan. “Necessary steps will be taken to implement this project, which was founded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2020 and has the potential to transport 500 million cubic meters of gas,” the ambassador emphasized.
