Azerbaijan, Türkiye ink maritime MoU

The State Maritime and Port Agency under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the General Directorate for Maritime Affairs of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in maritime transport.

The document was inked by Chairman of the Board of the State Maritime and Port Agency Arif Mammadov and Director General for Maritime Affairs at Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Unal Baylan on the sidelines of the bilateral meeting held as part of the visit of the Turkish delegation to Azerbaijan.

The memorandum envisages conducting of training by the Turkish side for guides, inspectors and ship management service operators, providing assistance in preparing for the audit of the International Maritime Organization, as well as support in the field of implementation of the Maritime Single Window, which will facilitate the exchange of information between the maritime transport participants in Azerbaijan.

The Turkish delegation members also familiarized themselves with the activities of the Vessel Traffic Management Center of the State Maritime and Port Agency of Azerbaijan.

The parties also held meetings at the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC and Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC.
