South Korean media highlights cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Shusha city and S. Korean city of Andong

South Korean media outlets, as well as TV channels have published articles and reports highlighting the acceptance of Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha to the League of Historical Cities (LHC) during the 18th World Conference of Historical Cities held in the South Korean city of Andong on November 14-16, as well as the signing of the letter of intent on cooperation with South Korean city of Andong, Peruvian city of Cusco and Greek city of Corinth.

The articles provided an insight into the activity of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in South Korea, highlighting the establishment of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Gyeongsangbuk-do province in 2021, as well as Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha and Andong city in 2022, as well as the signing of the relevant partnership agreements.

Describing Shusha as a pearl of Karabakh and the symbol of Azerbaijani history and culture, the articles also highlighted the host of Azerbaijani historical and cultural monuments located in the city, as well as its fascinating nature, labelling Shusha as one of the Azerbaijan’s main tourist destinations.

The articles noted that Shusha was declared as the Cultural capital of the Turkic World for 2023 by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
