Homemade jam is a great tasting addition to any meal. Tomato jam is a good alternative to may unhealthy condiments and sweets.

It can be made at home with all fresh ingredients and goes well with tea and as breakfast appetizer.

Cooking time: 4 days
Serves: 5-6


  • 1 kg/2.2 lbs tomatoes
  • 1,3 kg sugar
  • drop of vanillin


  • Take small, plum-shared, hard tomatoes. Immerse in boiling water for 5-8 seconds, immediately cool in cold water and peel. Pour on syrup and keep for a day. Drain syrup on the second day, boil and pour on tomatoes. The same on the third day. On the fourth day boil syrup with tomatoes bringing to readiness. Aromatize with vanillin or fruit essence.
