According to the action plan for the current year, a series of events were held in the military units of the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the Novruz holiday.
As part of the events, servicemen visited the graves of Azerbaijani martyrs and met with their families.
At the meetings, the servicemen emphasized that the Azerbaijani state always pays tribute to the memory of the martyrs, and asked about the concerns of their families.
The martyr families emphasized that the victory in the Patriotic War brought great joy to the Azerbaijani people and expressed gratitude to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for attention and care.
During the events, the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with observing a minute of silence. The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Speakers at the events noted that the arrival of spring is celebrated joyfully and solemnly in Azerbaijan.
It was stressed that the Novruz holiday, which originated in ancient times and is one of the national and spiritual values, is highly appreciated by Azerbaijani nation and the state. Speakers also spoke about the importance of preserving the Novruz holiday and passing it on to future generations.
The festive events featured concert programs with the participation of the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov, the Ideological and Cultural Center of the Ganja Garrison, representatives of culture and art, as well as teams of regional cultural departments.
