FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships returns to Baku after 14 years

After 14 years, Baku will again host the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships on September 16-22.

Elegant gymnasts will test their strength at National Gymnastics Arena in the course of 7 days. Both individual gymnasts and teams in group exercises will compete in the All-Around and Apparatus Finals. There will be announced the names of the best gymnasts in team competition as well.

The World Championships will qualify for the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games. Thus, this Championships will define not only the medalists, but also participants of the Olympic Games. So, the first 16 individual gymnasts (max. 2 gymnasts per country) in the All-Around ranking, will qualify for the Games. As for the gymnasts within group exercises, Bulgaria, Russia and Italy have already qualified according to the results of the last World Championships. At this year`s Championships, the best 5 teams will qualify for the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games according to the All-Around scores.
